Blog Number Three
The third blog written by Katie's Dad is now available to read.
We hope you enjoy his attempts at humour and also the more serious stuff too. Don't forget the previous blogs, if not on the front page, can be found via the Articles tab.
Hello again for another Blog. Thanks to those of you who listened to Mark Butcher’s song and your comments. Think you’ll agree it is a lovely song and very pertinent to us and I am really looking forward to seeing and hearing Mark perform it.
However, I am not sure how long I will last before I might need to be dried off! A quick update on my introduction to Face Book. I now have 12 friends! Pathetic I know and I am sure I had more than that before I went onto Face Book!
I did have a “what’s it all about “ moment yesterday. Actually since Katie’s death they are a regular occurrence yet yesterday’s one was extreme. Standing on the train on my occasional commute I couldn’t help noticing the number of passengers staring aimlessly at their mobiles.
Some were texting, some listening to music, some playing games and of course many more doing that all too necessary “I’m on the train” phone call.
I had endured a bad day at work and what with a slow train and all this apparent gormless behaviour I did question it all. With that I pulled my mobile phone from my suit pocket and sent a text! What is it all about!!
Behind the scenes of this website are loads of facts and figures about the site’s users and we are delighted with the number of visitors we get on a daily basis.
At least 25 different visitors every days now seems the norm which may not sound a lot but for a small website like ours it’s not bad. I will always endeavour to make the site interesting as I am sure Katie would approve.
Also I “googled” Katie Hart-Greenfield this week and noticed our fame has spread. There are a number of Daniel Radcliffe’s fans’ websites throughout the world and some of them picked up on his signing of the books for our auction at the cricket match.
I found our story in Spanish, French, German and on an American site too. The stories were great but as they had taken the details from the Southend Evening Echo my age was wrong! So now half the world think I am older than I really am!!
Finally I have started running again this week and was very surprised to find that the streets of Hockley had been covered in porridge – or is that I am hopelessly out of shape! At this point I can hear Katie slapping her forehead!
