Money Raised at Cricket Match
Local cricketers raise funds for Little Haven.
Cricketers young and old don their whites for a good cause.
A friendly cricket match was played last Sunday in the beautiful surroundings of Rankins Cricket Club near Rochford, Essex. The match raised money for Little Havens and was played between Pete Warner's XI and Rankins Sunday X1.
Although many of the Warner's X1 should have given up playing years ago they still won the game comfortably thanks to a majestic century from Neil Walden. A total of 288-5 in 40 overs saw them home by 106 runs as the home side were bowled out for 182. Malcolm King scored 63 for Rankins and Ian Walden and Geoff Gregory were among the wickets. Sadly, Bharat Gandhi injured himself fielding for Warner's X1 and is now a major doubt for Katie's game in August.
This was the second year running that Pete Warner has organised the game both times raising money for Little Haven.
