A New Blog
Katie’s Dad has found his keyboard and has deigned to share his latest words of wisdom with us.
It is a wonder his computer has survived as after Southend United’s run of bad results on and off the field in 2010 a number of household items have been hurled at various walls.
First of all I would like to thanks those of you who sent us messages last Sunday via text, phone calls or in person. Katie’s Mums’ house resembled a florist while the grave at St Mary’s Church looked lovely too.
Although it rained most of the day and has continued ever since the day was okay. Eight of us had lunch out at a restaurant we have been to a couple of times since Katie’s death and although the food was not up to the usual standard we made sure we had plenty of laughs in true Katie style.
It was nice too that this website had its 10,000th visit on Sunday. We hope you like the new colour scheme and our new daisy surround courtesy of our friends at Weave-a-Web.
Despite the rain spring is trying to arrive and it wont be long before the cricket season is upon us that can only mean one thing – The Third Annual Friends of Katie Cricket Match. It is hoped we will have reached our latest target of £25,000 for Little Havens long before July 25th.
Already there is loads going on behind the scenes to make the day as good as the first two. Please keep the day free. Surely I cannot win Man of the Match again – can I?
Thanks to all of you who have participated in our “What’s the Point Of” game. As with the Christmas Room 101 there are some of you with many issues! Please keep them coming if you have any more.
Finally, this week’s gag. I was stopped by someone in Hockley High Street last weekend and was asked, “What is the quickest way to Southend? I thought for a while. “Are you walking or driving?” I asked. “I’m driving.” “That’s the quickest way!” I replied. Boom boom!
