We have just been told by our friends at Little Havens that we have now raised over £110,800 in Katie's memory.

Katie's Birthday

February as we know is a difficult month for Friends of Katie with her birthday on the 5th and the 10th anniversary of her passing on the 21st.

As in previous years we find the best way to remember these contrasting times is to raise a glass or two in Katie's memory.

Lloyd's Market Charity Awards 2017

The work that Friends of Katie do for Little Havens was recognised at the recent Lloyd's Market Charity Awards 2017.

Katie's Dad received a cheque for £2,000 at the reception held in the Underwriting Room in the Lloyd's Building in the City of London. This along with funds raised at the Guy Carpenter Christmas raffle means that Katie's fund is now close to £110,000.

The Havens Long Service Awards

Katie's Dad was among the speakers at the Havens Hospice Long Service and Every One of Us Awards night.

The eveining held in Southend honoured volunteers who had helped out from 5 years up to 35! Staff members were awarded for their work too.

Another Trophy

As a successful cricket season ended for teams associated with Katie’s Dad he managed to get his hands on another trophy.

He attended Essex’s last day of their season and is seen here with the Championship Trophy. Sadly he was not allowed to take it home as it would have looked good alongside the Friends of Katie trophy

2017 Cricket Match £2,796 Raised

The 9th Friends of Katie Cricket Match was a great success with over £2,700 being raised for Little Havens.

Katie's Dad's XI won the match by 53 runs in a game played, luckily, in fine weather. Full report to follow.
